Life Is Like a Bowl of Lucky Charms

If you just read the title of this post, you're probably like this...

Do not worry. I explain it for you. :3

Take a look at this lovely bowl of lucky charms.
(photo off Google)

Looks scrumptious, doesn't it? Well, parts of it do anyways. I don't know about you, but I'm not a big fan of all the dry, brownish cheerio-type cereal that's mixed in with the delicious marshmallows... In fact, here's what an ideal bowl of lucky charms would look like for me:

MARSHMALLOW HEAVEN!
(photo also off Google)

But... somehow, the whole bowl of lucky charms just doesn't taste good without the bland cereal part... It's the combination of the two that makes Lucky Charms so appetizing. Without the cereal part, the marshmallows are toooo sweet, and you're left wondering why on earth you decided to try and eat a whole bowl of marshmallows for breakfast.

So, by this point, you're probably like, "Ok... where on planet earth is she going with this...?"
Patience, my friend. It will click in a moment.

In life, we experience many different types of days - exciting days, sad days, fun days, looooong days, and normal days. Normal days are the most common. I will compare normal days to the cereal part of Lucky Charms, and exciting days to the marshmallows. Sometimes, they might seem boring, or you might wish there were more excitement every day.

But think about it... Would you truly be happy if every days was as exciting as waking up, going to the amusement park, hanging out with friends, eating all the sweets you could possibly want, laughing until your sides hurt, going to bed at 2:00am because you were having so much fun you forgot what time it was, and then waking up the next morning just to do it all over again? My guess is.. probably not... After a while, those exciting days would lose their excitement, and you would be screaming for the chance to live a normal, ordinary day again.

You might be thinking to yourself, "Are you kidding me? No I wouldn't! Party every day!! Woot woot!!"

At which point I would smile sweetly, pat you on the head, and say, "Trust me. You would get tired of it."

It's the combination of the normal days and the exciting days that makes life enjoyable. Just like it's the combination of the cereal and the marshmallows that makes Lucky Charms... well, Lucky Charms.

So next time you pour yourself a bowl of lucky charms, remember...

Life is like a bowl of lucky charms... it's the sweet and the bland that work together to make it good. :)

Thanks for reading!

  5. Great post! But to tell you the truth... You'll think I'm crazy, (I AM! XD), but I think I like the bland part better than the marshmallows.

  8. An excellent post! Just thinking if anybody has any any
links or screenshots of excellent Email Templates in practice?

It's always good to see templates, one more thing to see examples to benchmark as good communication. Would be eager to see any links.

  12. Well some people don't like life. Either all of it is too sweet. Or the Combination of both the marshmallows and cheerios are bland.
