Hi! :D
I know Thanksgiving is already passed, but I wanted to post a little bit about gratitude today. :3
For school, I am writing an essay about Hurricane Sandy. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sandy, it was a hurricane in October of 2012 that mainly hit New York and New Jersey, but also affected some of the other Eastern states.
Anyways, I was reasearching how many people died in it so that I could include that in my essay. 285 people died in huricane Sandy. And that's just the known ammount. More people could have also been killed, and just not reported or discovered yet..
Some of the people that died were very young - for example, two little boys, ages two and four, were drowned in the floodwater. Their mother was trying to carry them to safety when they were swept out of her arms.
Another girl, about thirteen, was killed when the floodwaters knocked over her house. Her father died, and her mother had to be hospitalized.
Many houses were destroyed, and - well I think instead of telling you, I'll just show you:
But I'm not telling you this to make you depressed or anything, I just want you to be grateful. You are alive. That is an awesome blessing that a lot of people don't have anymore. A lot of people lost their lives, but you still have yours. Use it wisely. Make good decisions, and don't forget to..
BE GRATEFUL
You are amazing. :) And don't you forget that.
Thanks for reading!
